Cisco estimates that 80-90% of all Internet traffic will be video traffic by 2013. If so, then it is critical that peering coordinators understand the emerging video Internet ecosystem.

This workshop is intended to provide an introduction to Internet Peering and the new research that documents how the existing Hollywood Video Ecosystem is merging with the dominant application in the Internet: the emerging Video Internet Ecosystem.

1) When and where are they given? What is the cost?
The Peering Workshops are done about once a month, on-location with the clients, and are now priced at a flat rate of $6000 anywhere in the U.S. This price includes all expenses (travel, meal, etc.). We have found this pricing model to be easy for many companies to justify when compared to the market value of an educated team.
Even though all of the materials are made freely available on the DrPeering web site, customers tell us that there is substantial value in bringing in an expert to bring thier team up to speed on the material and facilitate discussion.
2) We are setting up a Peering Team and would like to see if the Peering Workshop would help.
We just finished the two day workshop for an ISP in xxxxx looking to set up a Peering Steering Committee as they explore going down the Peering path. We had a group of 12-15 including many in the exec team. The workshop equipped them with a common understanding, common definitions, and we used the forum to educate and discuss strategies. Very effective - in fact, members of this team agreed:
"This was the best workshop we ever had!"
The workshop is the same cost whether there are 2 or 15 people room, so this group had some good economies of scale. Some clients find assembling their team for the Peering Workshop easier than asking many members to read documents and get up to speed on the topic. In two days, your team is all up to speed, all at the same time.
3) This material doesn't seem applicable to us (as an IX Operator). Is there a workshop more aligned to our needs?
We have created the Internet Peering Strategies for IX Operators workshop for just this reason. This workshop provides the customer persepctive enough for your team to understand the marketplace, the value proposition of an IX and the tactics used by some of the smartest IX Operators in the world. There is a greater emphasis on the IX Playbook and we spend some time at the end summarizing these strategies and working through how you might apply them strategically.
4) How deep does the material go?
You may also notice that the site (Peering.DrPeering.net) is being updated every day now with the materials that we use for the peering workshops. It is also being updated with some of the newer research in terms of peering away video traffic, previous presentations, and soon audio and video from presentations in the past. Not trying to talk you out of the on-site workshops / consulting path, but for efficiency reasons we are trying to get to the point where we are effective in delivering the information and insights through on-line methods more so than traveling. It is up to you which will be most effective for your team.
5) Can you provide references?
Yes - we have very happy customers. Please contact us and we will be glad to provide references.
